Harshitha - The Dancer!

Harshitha Venkatesh has learnt this art format from her Mother/Guru Bhuvana Venkatesh(Artistic Director, Nrithyanivedhan School of Dance, CA, USA) in the traditional Pandanallur Style of Bharathanatyam starting at age 5. She has captivated audiences of all ages both in Chennai & in the US through her elegant, dedicated and graceful dancing.
Harshitha is a fast-paced dancer and is highly skillful in the complex rhythmic footwork characteristic of the Pandanallur style and is vivid in expressing the varied emotions of the Abhinaya. She is also dexterous in demonstrating the Karanas which are identified as Sculpturesque movements as codified in the Natya Shastra, an Indian treatise on Dance which her Mother/ Guru integrates in all her choreographic works.

Harshitha as a young dancer, wanted to combine her love for classical dance and her passion for empowering women to hold a benefit event for Maitri, a non-profit organization in Bayarea (maitri.org - Helping women help themselves) in March of 2016 at Sunnyvale theatre, CA. She put her creative skills to help a cause that would benefit & empower the society! She raised 7000 dollars for the organization with this benefit event & it was gratifying for her to have made a difference in the community to give back with the art she loves to do!
